After seeing this movie, I think people will be surprised by it.  The critics seems to be a little harsh on this movie.  If you look at the actual viewer ratings (rotten tomatoes), it’s actually in the mid 70’s %.   That should tell you something.   The movie has great special effects (hey street fighter take notes).  There are some corny moments, but there are some great moments as well.  There’s a little scene where it is inspired by Beauty and the Beast.  A little homage to the classic.

As far as story goes it’s pretty generic.  I”ll kind of go and say it’s very similar to the first Percy Jackson movie, but with a teacher student aspect.  I thought the pacing of the movie was done well too.  There wasn’t a scene that was too slow that lost my attention.  For the 90 minutes of  the movie I saw, it kept me interested.  Also for the soundtrack, they should really stop using mainstream music in it.  It really makes a movie dated fast.  This movie may not be for the critical, but for those that go to the movies for enjoyment.
