Check out the intro movie to Mickey Mouse’s new video game called Epic Mickey. The feeling I get is more like the Kingdom Heart games. The game seems very dark, but with a Disney touch to it. As far as the intro goes, it looks to be rendered in real-time (check the anti-aliasing). I’m surprised it’s in HD because you know that the game is only coming out to the Wii and it’s supposedly not capable of HD. With Mickey, he always so curious. Playing with thing and creating trouble. Is this what Curios George was created from? Anyways, it looks to be fun.
If you’re don’t know what the game play is about, it’s pretty much an adventure game where Mickey has a paintbrush and you can paint things or erase things to your liking or to help you progress in the game. I’d really like to play this game, but it’s for the Wii. It looks so outdated not being in HD.
So the Comic Con has just ended. You also so know, it’s not just about comics anymore. Why even bother calling it “Comic” Con. Just call it the San Diego Con or something. Anyways, they previewed a really good trailer for the game DC Universe Online. Who ever did this, mad props. Who would of thought, all of them would looks so good in CG glory. Batman, Superman, Flash etc looks so freaking awesome. I’m not really into MMORPG (I think this is what the game will be). If it looks exciting as the trailer, then I’ll be on board. The game comes out sometime before the holidays. One other thing, I think they should really just make all these comic book movies into all CG. It just feels so much better.
Rumors or rumors, what is the real scoop? Some are saying that the said video is for a promotion for the new Mortal Kombat game. Some are saying this is a snippet of an actual movie. I don’t know what to think of it, but it looks awesome. Realistic and gory at the same time. It’s kind of hard to believe that it is a promo for a game considering the stars in the short clip. Spawn himself, Michael Jai White, and Jeri Ryan. If this is a movie, it’s kind of early as supposedly the Mortal Kombat movie doesn’t come out until 2013. What to believe?
I don’t really care. If they start making game to movies better like Prince of Persia then hopefully will soon start to see some of the great games of all time come to life in the big screen. As for me I’m watching this short thinking of what will hopefully be a premise to a really good Mortal Kombat reboot.
Street fighter 4 has got nothing on this. Expect to see some old and new faces from the Marvel and Capcom universe. They don’t show much in the teaser trailer, but at the end, you can kind of tell how it’s gonna look like. Think Street Fighter 4 with a slight difference in character design. The only bad thing is the sound in this trailer is lacking, but the visuals are just as good as when Capcom showed the trailer for Street fighter 4.
So you’ve seen the trailer. What should we expect? For one, it’ll have a roster of 30 or probably more characters, most likely online play like SF4. The biggest downer is that it won’t be released until 2011. If you can’t get enough, try playing MvC2.
Called Pixel, this short created by Patrick Jean is a look into a world were 8 bit has been forgotten. Guess what’s it’s not going anywhere. It’s there to wreak havoc and make the planet into nothing, but straight lines and ultimately into a cube. Gotta to say this was a really solid piece.
Then you have this little gem. A person created this 3D cubed Legend of Zelda video. It was created from a game called 3D Dot Game Heroes. It doesn’t look like it took long to create. The mechanics, look and feel is very reminiscent of the 8-bit Nintendo game. For some reason the old 8-bit style will never fade. Even 8-bit sounds are making it to the mainstream. Maybe those that were kids back in the late 80’s early 90’s are older now and taking something in the past and making it new again. Here’s the video courtesy of Game Informer.
Oops, apparently I have some trouble embedding Game Informer’s video so make sure to hit the link above to view. Here’s a trailer for 3D Dot Game Heroes. You can clearly see it’s already very similar to the NES Zelda game. Even the music is like it. None the less, it’s still pretty cool.
It came out yesterday. So who got it? Since I’m busy playing Final Fantasy XIII, God of War 3 will have to wait. These two games have got to be the best looking games for the PS3. Thinking of not grabbing God Of War 3? Well, why don’t you check out this new ad for the game. It might just change your mind.
