So it's Sonic the Hedghog's 20th anniversary. Sega took it upon themselves to make a Sonic game that was made for the new fans and the old. In Sonic Generations, you can play as the new Sonic (taller more attitude) or the old Sonic (younger and more cuter). Sega has taken some of the best levels of the Sonic games and put them in this one all revamped (most of them anyway) to look great on your HDTV. Also don't forget that this game is 3D capable, so if you have a television that supports 3D then turn that feature on.

As stated before the levels have been updated. Also note that this game is both 2D and 3D. Meaning you can play some levels as side scroller ala the 16-bit days or 3D also post Dreamcast days. Sega made sure to please both fans. As it looks from the video shown on the web, this could be that best game since the 16-bit era. It looks like Sonic is back and this time back to shine in the spot light. Check out the fan-made trailer for the game and Sega should really consider this as their new promo trailer.

It looks like the next gen in graphics is upon us. With new systems probably gonna be announced this year, it's not surprising that developer tool makers are showing demos of their latest game engines. The two major players in the graphics engine game are the Crytek engine and the Unreal engine. Of course they have their pros and cons. There are some features that are available on both and some that are not. What does this mean for the gamers? Well, you'll get improved graphics (think of prerendered graphics), better ai, and better special effects like lighting, particles, destruction.

Do think it's a step above what we already see in console or pc gaming? We'll find out soon enough as game developers are sure to take advantage of the new developement tools.

Well this came out of no where. This device is a monster. It's like a super device. If the NGP (PSP2) is priced accordingly, this will be a hit. Form factor is similar to the original PSP. It just thicker and has a 5" OLED display. Other notable things are that it now has two analog joystick, touchscreen and trackpad on the back. This all powered by a Quad-core A9 chip. Supposedly this thing will be coming out during the 2011 holiday season, the only thing is is that it's not confirmed if there will be simultaneous release.

Well if you didn't know, they just had the Video Game Awards. The best thing about the awards are the trailers for upcoming games coming out in 2011. Well check out the sequel to Batman Arkham Asylum. Now forget about the sequel and just look at the trailer. Are we at a point where CG becomes reality for humans. You decide and check out the trailer for Batman: Arkham City. Maybe just maybe, Christopher Nolan can just make the whole 3rd Batman film in CG.

I'm so out of the loop. This trailer came out in June, but here it is. Got to say it kicks ass. They gave it more of a comic feel with the hard inking lines and semi cell shaded colors. If you're like me and totally forgot about this very anticipated game make sure you don't blink. If you do, you'll surely will miss something as there are so much things going on here. Of note here, why the hell did Capcom make Ryu look so weak here. This is their game, sure Wolverine has that unbreakable steel, but Ryu got that mega fireball. Anyways, enjoy. The game will be out early next year.

So while the Tokyo Game Show is going on (is it over now?), there is another trailer for the game Catherine. I really don't know what the game is about, but it seems like it has to deal with dreams or the paranormal. Not much is known, but if you've played Persona, then you might get hints from the style of the game.

Aesthetically, the game looks great. Blending in the hand drawn animation and the 3D animation is done very well. The design of the characters are good. More in the realistic stylized than the kiddie anime style. Let's hope the game is good since, they don't seem to promote or show any thing new with this game. Check out the new video below:

Check out the intro movie to Mickey Mouse's new video game called Epic Mickey. The feeling I get is more like the Kingdom Heart games. The game seems very dark, but with a Disney touch to it. As far as the intro goes, it looks to be rendered in real-time (check the anti-aliasing). I'm surprised it's in HD because you know that the game is only coming out to the Wii and it's supposedly not capable of HD. With Mickey, he always so curious. Playing with thing and creating trouble. Is this what Curios George was created from? Anyways, it looks to be fun.

If you're don't know what the game play is about, it's pretty much an adventure game where Mickey has a paintbrush and you can paint things or erase things to your liking or to help you progress in the game. I'd really like to play this game, but it's for the Wii. It looks so outdated not being in HD.

So the Comic Con has just ended. You also so know, it's not just about comics anymore. Why even bother calling it "Comic" Con. Just call it the San Diego Con or something. Anyways, they previewed a really good trailer for the game DC Universe Online. Who ever did this, mad props. Who would of thought, all of them would looks so good in CG glory. Batman, Superman, Flash etc looks so freaking awesome. I'm not really into MMORPG (I think this is what the game will be). If it looks exciting as the trailer, then I'll be on board. The game comes out sometime before the holidays. One other thing, I think they should really just make all these comic book movies into all CG. It just feels so much better.

Rumors or rumors, what is the real scoop? Some are saying that the said video is for a promotion for the new Mortal Kombat game. Some are saying this is a snippet of an actual movie. I don't know what to think of it, but it looks awesome. Realistic and gory at the same time. It's kind of hard to believe that it is a promo for a game considering the stars in the short clip. Spawn himself, Michael Jai White, and Jeri Ryan. If this is a movie, it's kind of early as supposedly the Mortal Kombat movie doesn't come out until 2013. What to believe?

I don't really care. If they start making game to movies better like Prince of Persia then hopefully will soon start to see some of the great games of all time come to life in the big screen. As for me I'm watching this short thinking of what will hopefully be a premise to a really good Mortal Kombat reboot.
