No it's not Batman and Robin or MJ and Pippen, it's Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. It makes me wonder, how many films did Tim Burton do without Johnny Depp other than the Batman series and Big Fish. Anyways, just wanted to give a heads up that Tim Burton's interpetation of Alice In Wonderland will be opening tomorrow (tonight midnight). Now since everyone seems to be doing remakes, when are they going to do a remake of Wizard of Oz? I think it's fitting as it seems like that tale is fading. Take a look at the most recent trailer for Alice In Wonderland. Damn, does it look awesome!
It looks like we're getting more information on what could probably (and hopefully) be James Cameron next project. The Battle Angel Alita movie will be taking place in the early life of the character. If you are not familiar with the manga, she apparently is a roller skater and a cyborg at that. The only problem is is that see she has memory loss and doesn't know she such a violent cyborg.
It also looks like James Cameron is excited about both the story and environment. Oh did I mention the movie is now called Alita. I guess Cameron likes his movie titles that are one word and either starts with a T or an A. I thought he would have at least mixed it up a bit and go for a T since his last movie was an A. Here's some scenes from the anime.
How did I miss this. It looks like the cartoon has made it to the big screen in a good way. Minus the lack of color with the casting, M. Shylmalal or whatever his name is is making this movie darker than the cartoon. I don't blame him because he's making a cartoon come to life. It wouldn't be believable if it was all bright colors and rainbows.
As far as set designs and clothing, I think they did a pretty good job. It looks like it has the budget of the likes of the Narnia series. They give off a very grand look. It also looks very original too. I'm suprised they shot most of the film in Pennsylvania. Truly amazing what technology can do these days. They could use a little tweaking with some of there matte backgrounds. It's doesn't seem to blend very well with the foreground. There's still time for improvements though.
Like I said the only thing I really didn't like was that they didn't stay true to the colors of their characters. It's funny cause there is a scene where there's two characters that are supposed to be a certain type of group where everyone is Inuit. The only problem is everyone looks related, but those two. That's some cause for questioning. And to make matter worst, it's not very believable. If you're a fan of the series, you know what I'm talking about. There's even been a big outcry about this too. Well enough of my rant. Let's just hope they don't butcher Momo and that flying monkey.
New trailer is out. In this one it gives more of the what the story is like and getting to know some new characters. The best part of the trailer had to be the Barbie and Ken part. That was hilarious. Ken seems a little too feminine. So without further ado here it is.
Reminder everyone. For those that love sci-fi / fantasy flicks don't forget to check out Wolfman. It comes out today. I'm just glad that we're finally get a different movie than that usual vampire stuff. I'm pretty sick of all that blood and fangs stuff. Don't get me wrong. Vampires are pretty cool, but they've been overplayed in 2009. It's just refreshing to see a take on a different creature from long ago. I wonder what's next, will we finally get a revamped Frankinstein?
Critic reviews aren't so favorable for the movie, but as always it's not the critics that know best, it's the movie goers. If you head on over to rottentomatoes.com, the critics gave it a 31% while the community gave it 61%. That's a big difference. I've always trusted the community more than these so called critics. I'll be seeing the Wolfman and Percey Jackson & the Olympians this weekend.

According to REEL CHICAGO, there's a possibility that Transformers 3 will be shot in Chicago! It’s not a done deal yet, but this is great news and will certainly provide a different look to what was seen in the previous films. I hope they change the look of the robots, instead of all that organic techno mumbo metallic surfaces. Robots in Navy Pier, robots playing kick ball with the Bean, and robots on the Sears/Willis Tower! If they choose Chicago, they better get a great story to go along with a great city!
