Rouse Your Bones

So while wondering around Vimeo, I stumbled upon this pretty neat little music video.  Why is it pretty neat?  Well, this music video reminds me of the trailer for "Where The Wild Things are."  Even though I didn't enjoy the movie (I actually fell asleep),  I thoroughly enjoyed the trailer.  I know weird isn't it.  Anyways, the way the music video has been cut, the music, and the subject matter makes it very similar to that trailer.  In my opinion anyways.  Don't agree with me, well that's ok.  Just enjoy the video then.  If you're wondering who the band is, the band is called Broadcast 2000 and the song is called Rouse Your Bones.

The PaperDoll (based in New York), has a new video out.  It's the second video version for "If Nothing Happened".  I really like this video.  It captures the band's image very well.  If you've ever checked out their other MV's, they were either animated or really old footage (Gumby was in one of them).  You never knew who was playing or singing.  Now you get to see the faces behind the music.  With the video being the 2nd version for a song, is this a sign that Paperdoll will finally garner more exposure.  Will they be shown on Fuse, Myx, and other music television stations?  Will they finally have shows outside of the east coast in the US? As you watch, you may be wondering where you've heard the song.  Well, if you've seen the Dayquil commercial in the last two months the background music is from them.  It's seems like they're inching their way into the masses.  you can check out more of their music at www.paperdollband.com.

If you're still a fan of the Smashing Pumkins, they just released a new track called Widow Wake My Mind.  The song is very upbeat.  I would say along the lines of Zwan.  The new drummer is good, but not like Jimmy.  Hopefully,  we get to hear more of the new drummer and his talents. As far as the new Smashing Pumpkins album, its called Teargarden By Kaleidyscope (or maybe not).  What's different about this album is that it will be 44 songs.  Think of the Machina albums that were released online for free.  Apparently they're going the same route, only that they will release a song once a month or so.  Hopefully you can buy the album in full (with better sound fidelity).  The only bad thing is that the whole album wouldn't be released until 4 years from now with the way they are going with it. My take on the new song Widow Take My Mind.  It's a good refresh before the Zeitgiest  album.  Upbeat and great melody as well.  It doesn't have that distorted sound. Like how the last album where they recorded it to sound distorted/clipped making it sound bad even on low volume.  My only negative is that the lyrics aren't as good as the older ones. Take a listen below.

Here's the other song called A Song For A Son
