See what you can do with a little macro shooting and some 3D skills. Check out Gecko Animation's logo animation. The video has some great interesting subject. Add the great sound design and you've got a well composed shot that's sure to keep the audience wanting more. Even just for a logo animation, I'd like see more.
Looks like Windows Phone Mango update will be making the rounds this week around the world. Several European carriers are announcing today or tomorrow. Canada is on the same boat as well. Here in the US, At&t are announcing and probably pushing out the update tomorrow.
All I can say is FINALLY. People with Windows Phone right now have been waiting for this. It's finally catching up with the likes of iOS and Android. It'll be a welcome update. Hopefully it's not too late. With the current released winphones that are lacking is the front facing camera. I think that it was a bad idea for Microsoft to not include this in the debut of Windows Phone last year. A lot people are who got a phone last year, aren't probably gonna get new phones this year. With the economy as it is and most people are gonna be under a two year contract. Therefore, they've got another year before they'll will eventually upgrade their phones. And it seems like all the new Windows Phone are coming with front facing cameras. It's a pity though. Microsoft should have been ready from the start.
Hopefully that Mango update can persuade current users to stick it out and hopefully this Mango goes much smoother than the other Windows phone updates. As far as the Mango update goes, not all phone will be updated at the same time. Let watch some video of the Mango update and hopefully it does make the rounds this week.
So it's Sonic the Hedghog's 20th anniversary. Sega took it upon themselves to make a Sonic game that was made for the new fans and the old. In Sonic Generations, you can play as the new Sonic (taller more attitude) or the old Sonic (younger and more cuter). Sega has taken some of the best levels of the Sonic games and put them in this one all revamped (most of them anyway) to look great on your HDTV. Also don't forget that this game is 3D capable, so if you have a television that supports 3D then turn that feature on.
As stated before the levels have been updated. Also note that this game is both 2D and 3D. Meaning you can play some levels as side scroller ala the 16-bit days or 3D also post Dreamcast days. Sega made sure to please both fans. As it looks from the video shown on the web, this could be that best game since the 16-bit era. It looks like Sonic is back and this time back to shine in the spot light. Check out the fan-made trailer for the game and Sega should really consider this as their new promo trailer.
Nothing like some good old extreme sports to get your blood pumping. Except, this one is more elegant than usual. Take a bunch of guys and put them on the helicopter. Next, put them off on a mountain cliff. Add a couple little cameras and what you get is some very stunning scenes. If this was shot on a IMAX, that would be crazy and thrilling.
As far as technical stuff goes, a couple Gopro cameras, parachutes, and air gliding suits.
Here's another great creation by Alex Glawion. Known for his abstract shorts. Also known in the Blender community for using Blender for modeling, animating, and rendering. In his latest short, his graduation film, he shows a little teaser of "The Risk Not Taken". Not much is known about this short, but Alex plans to premiere it at the Blender Conference this year.
It's been a long time since Evangelion 2.0, but we finally get to see a short, very short clip of Evangelion 3.0: Quickening. Not much is know at all just that it will be release in the fall of 2012. What does that mean to us folks across the pond? Well, we won't see a release in the US sometime in 2013. Well it for more waiting. In mean time check out the very short teaser.
