Now That’s A Good Batman

So did you check out that Batman costume that someone made?  It’s looks exactly like the one in the Batman Arkham Asylum video game.  The creators made sure to stay very true to the source with have the right colors, minute details, and just overall coolness.  Even the cowl moves when your head turns.  Maybe they should use this in Batman Begins.  This suit is much better looking than the movie ones.  Check out more at the TheEffectsLab forums.

Beware The Batman

So what do we have here? Looks like we’ll be getting some kind of new Batman every year until 2013. So you’re saying what the hell is he thinking. Well, for starters, there’s going to be a new straight to dvd release of the animated Batman: Year One coming out at the end of October. Then next year we’ll have the final installment to Nolan’s Batman saga. Then in 2013 Cartoon Network will be getting a new Batman.

So what sets the Cartoon Network’s Batman from the rest of the other animated Batman? Well, this will be the first CGI animated Batman series. We’ll be able to see batman in the CG world. Think of it ala Transformers Prime animated series. Let’s just hope it will be a very dark Batman and not a lot of bright colors.

Check out this promotion art for the series called Beware the Batman airing sometime in 2013 on Cartoon Network. I’m not sure about the design, but I’m sure it’ll grow on me if the story is good. Now if only Cartoon Network could start airing new Thundercats episodes.

Dark Knight Teases Us

Looks like if you saw the last Harry Potter, then you also saw a preview of the Dark Knight Rises.  Nothing is special about the trailer.  It’s just footage from the previous films and short new footage.  Remind you the Dark Knight Rises just started filming so there isn’t much to show anways.

In my opinoin, they should have just done what they did for the Dark Knight trailer, show the Bat sign with some voice overs.  Instead they gave us the teaser which was a mixture of the first and second teaser.  Anyways if you haven’t seen the teaser check out the unofficially released one before it’s taken down: Dark Knight Rises Teaser.

Also anyone noticed what looks to be the Superman symbol in the poster above?

UPDATE:  Teaser trailer has now officially been released.  Check out below.

Batman: Year One

Can’t wait for the Dark Knight Rises?  Well then check out this animated flick of Batman called Batman: Year One.  This is based off Frank Miller’s four arc  issues in 1987.  You might have heard a couple of years back that when they were rebooting the Batman franchise, the story of Batman: Year One was in the works.  Well that never happened.  Supposedly the story was very losely based off the Frank Miller story and later on just got shelved.

Well we didn’t get Year One, but we did get Batman Begins.  Jump to  present day,  Batman: Year One is back, but in animated form.  This is more closely based on the Frank Miller series.  It will hopeful show more of Bruce Wayne as Batman and how he became to be the cape crusader.

As far as the animation goes, it looks to differ from the cartoons we are more familiar with in the early 90’s.  For some reason this has a more realisitc feel both in character and environnment.  Colors seems to be more muted, but the mood is still retained.  Now this is only from the short teaser trailer they’ve shown.  If I have to say something though, is that while Marvel pretty lacks in the animation department, DC sure knows how to put some pretty great straight to video movies of their IPs.  Check out the trailer below to view:

Can’t Wait For Dark Knight Rises?

Then check out Batman Delivrance. A Batman fan made short that really doesn’t make sense. While the visuals were pleasing for the most part (too much used of straight out black though), the story was left to be desired. If you don’t know, in this short, Batman is old and and fights Wolverine. Yes, Wolverine. I have know idea why they’re fighting but they’re fighting in a scene that’s all black except for a spot light above. I guess it was just cheaper to not have a set at all. Wolverine looked just the movie Wolverine. Plus one for that and the Batman suit is pretty good. So the final scene which is the fight between Batman and Wolverine, what happens, who wins? The ending is likely not what you would expect. One thing I don’t get, so why the heck is the credits in English when the whole short was in French (with English Subtitles). That just doesn’t make sense. If you’re a fan of Batman and love to see what a crossover of superheros would be like, then take a look a this French Batman short. It’s not really bad, it just didn’t make sense.

Batman And The Uncanny Valley

Well if you didn’t know, they just had the Video Game Awards. The best thing about the awards are the trailers for upcoming games coming out in 2011. Well check out the sequel to Batman Arkham Asylum. Now forget about the sequel and just look at the trailer. Are we at a point where CG becomes reality for humans. You decide and check out the trailer for Batman: Arkham City. Maybe just maybe, Christopher Nolan can just make the whole 3rd Batman film in CG.
